Both sports personalities, celebrities, and netizens could not help but share their reaction on social media as they witness the most aggressive and action-packed brawl in the history of a basketball league.
According to Gilas assistant coach Jem Ryn Betia, the tension between two teams started after some of the Australian players removed the sponsor ticket from the floor of the court during practice the day before the game.
He said that during last night’s warm-up, Australian players started trash taking Gilas players when some of them stepped onto the half line, such court bullying repeatedly happened during the game, especially whenever Pinoy players are taking free throws.
When Pogoy finally had enough, he intentionally fouled one of the Aussie players who eventually kicked him leading another Gilas player Andre Blatche to return a punch to the said foreign player.
Some were also disappointed to the country’s representative after former Gilas player Marc Pingris even took a selfie with the team after the brawl.
