“Ang nangyari noong Miyerkoles ay ‘bantay-bahay’!”
This is the confident hit-back of Kadamay National Chairperson Gloria “Ka Bea” Arellano after President Rodrigo Duterte himself threatened to resort to violent dispersal should they continue occupying the housing units meant for military and police officers.

In an interview at DZMM Teleradyo, Arellano explained that the members of the urban poor group did not occupy the vacant housing units but rather just guarded in citing reports that the houses are being given away to other beneficiaries.
It could be recalled that on Thursday, during President Duterte’s speech at the oath-taking of newly elected barangay officials at Sta. Rosa Sports Complex, he issued a warning against the group who are notorious for taking over unoccupied housing units meant for police and military personnel.
“I have the police and the military and I ordered them to maintain peace and order in this country. If something happens to you, that’s your problem,” he added.
